Writing in the Disciplines 2007 WID Workshop The Writing Outcomes Program's Writing in the Disciplines Workshop is the first step in a process of faculty development. After attending the workshop, participants complete a year-long mentorship program as they implement workshop materials and concepts in the classroom. At the end of the first year, participants compile a teaching portfolio and receive feedback on their first year's experience. After completing the first year of the process, participants become mentors, overseeing and assisting a new cohort of workshop participants.
The initial workshop in this process, the 2007 offering involved 6 participants and 6 mentors. The schedule includes sessions on creating effective assignments, providing effective feedback, process instruction, and other topics. Participants will use the workshop to develop and revise specific assignments for classes they currently teach.
The 2008 WID Workshop will be offered on January 10-11, 2008. If you are interested in participating in the WID workshop process, please complete the enrollment form. |
