Writing Assessment Program
Holistic Scoring Training Workshop
Every fall semester, the Writing Assessment Program offers a faculty development workshop in holistic scoring. This four-hour workshop covers the theory of holistic scoring, a detailed discussion of Southeast's holistic scoring scale, and a rangefinding session. With this training, a faculty member is prepared to use holistic scoring in his or her classroom.
The workshop concludes with a scoring session. Based on the participant's performance in this session, the participant will be invited to join Southeast's scoring cadre. A rotation of cadre members are invited to assist in the scoring of WP002 and WP003 exams.
